EDUCATION
-In 1979- 1986 graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Perugia
- From November 1988 to October 1992 he specialized in Medical Oncology
-In 1999, he was Medical Director in the branch of Medical Oncology in the Medical Oncology Unit of the Catholic University of the "Sacred Heart"
-In 2003-2004, participant in a UN project (United Nations Development Program) for the implementation of cancer treatment in the Middle East and in particular in Israel and the Palestinian territories.

-In 2009-2010, participant in managerial training in an important pharmaceutical industry based in Brussels, as Medical Director in the oncology sector (clinical and medical affairs) for the developing countries of Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East

EMPLOYMENT
-Dr. Carmelo Pozzo, specialist in Medical Oncology, is the director of the Operational Unit of the John Paul II Foundation and of the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome, with over ten years of experience in this field.

-Since 1999 he has been a Medical Director in the branch of Medical Oncology in the Medical Oncology Unit of the Catholic University of the "Sacred Heart", and is currently a professor of Medical Oncology, in the degree course in Medicine and Surgery of the same University.

- He is an active member of the Italian Society of Medical Oncology, the European Society of Medical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Associate Editor of several international oncology journals.

-Co-author of about 40 original articles and abstracts published in international journals, related to tumor therapy and management of cancer patients in all stages of the disease.

-He is a member of various international clinical trial review committees and advisory boards related to the development of new drugs in the therapy of solid tumors and is actively involved in associations and social assistance initiatives to support cancer patients and patients' families.
